Day 12 is all about my favourite Childhood book which is ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ By Roald Dahl

Roald Dahl books were everything for me as a kid! Growing up, I would love reading Fantastic Mr Fox, Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, The BFG and the rest, they were all so wonderful and weird as well, that’s what made them so exciting for me! Never before had I imagined a giant or foxes outsmarting farmers in such hilarious ways! Giant peaches and making your grandma ten stories tall!

But for me, George’s Marvellous Medicine was the best one, it was so amazing and fun to read, it would never get boring…no matter how many times I read it! Thankfully, I never tried to actually make any silly medicine with whatever I could find! Guess I’m just that impressionable by watching a TV Show or a book…hope my kids are like that as well!

Coming in at a close second is not a Roald Dahl book but rather an Alexander McCall Smith story called ‘The BubbleGum Tree’ I mean who doesn’t want to read a story about a tree that has bubblegum growing on it! the adventure to India and seeing the actual trees just made it all the more amazing, I remember asking my parents how to grow them…I think I buried a pack of Bubblegum once…never watered it though… I cherished both these books growing up and I really wish I still had copies of them…might need to go out and buy a copy of them each, just for the heck of it!
