Now, before I begin this blog, you might notice that my logo involves a puzzle piece in it, I did that because everywhere I looked, I saw this kind of thing and thought it was a good idea…however as time has gone on, I have decided that it’s not a representation of Autism at all, especially when I came across a certain group for the first time ever….Autism Speaks, needless to say…my eyes were opened that day and my views changed because I could not believe what these people were saying and doing, it made me feel ok to be on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, I mean it’s not like I have to put up with this group

Oh…..

Apparently, we have one over here as well….whoopee! Here is an image bellow that I have seen posted all over my FB page all day today, this Good Friday! I agree with this message 100% even if I had never heard of this organization before I started to do my blog! they are based in America and I am in the UK so personally, I have never come across them, however, I have researched them and I can understand why literally no one with a brain supports them! Here is the image!

A powerful message regarding Autistic Acceptance Month, pretty much  speaking the truth to not promote Autism Speaks…sorry Autism $peaks!  ching ching, I mean I found this on a website regarding them and this was outrageous! Do not read if your easily offended!

At Autism Speaks, our goal is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.

We are dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a possible cure for autism. We strive to raise public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society: and we work to bring hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals.

Autism Speaks aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is our firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle.- Autism Speaks

Well, I’ll be changing my logo now! I am not a puzzle, I am a person, I am not diseased, I am blessed, I am not ashamed, I am proud! To think that people are like this somewhere in the world is a scary thought and don’t even get me started on that video that they did! We won’t go into that, no way! Autistic Awareness Month has this light things up blue thing going on and I’ve seen videos explaining it…what annoys me about it is….blue is my favourite colour….seriously, I could have everything in my room be blue and I would love it!

I don’t play Skylanders but I like how they look, just not who it’s associated with! April should be an interesting month as normally, it’s just another month for me, I never think of it as Autistic Awareness at all, it’s just another day in my life and it will continue to be so because that is what I should do, nothing changes regarding my Autism because I won’t let it.

But Autism Speaks will never have my backing or support, only my negativity and disdain for how they view Autism!

  1. the light it up blue nonsense came from Autism $peaks. Autism $peaks is not a good organization what’s so ever and the worst part is that they associated with JRC which is notorious for the abuse they subject us to. we don’t deserve to be abused or mistreated, we deserve to be loved and accepted for who we are as human beings. Let’s turn off the blue and light it up red instead. We’re people, not puzzles, we don’t need a cure

  2. Autism speaks is such a joke. That organization doesn’t speak for us, it routinely demonize us for the sake of their own financial gain and it’s wrong. Autism speaks is so focused on making us look normal in order to be liked by the neurotypical community. we don’t have to look normal in order to be liked by our neurotypical peers, we have every right to be ourselves. we are not blue puzzle pieces, family tragedies, nor an epidemic. No wonder why people are being ignorant bigots, it is because of the lies that people have been putting out on the media about us being an epidemic when the real epidemic in this country is their own ignorance, bigotry, and greed. All we need is love and acceptance, not all this unneeded discrimination and hate because we’re different. we have dreams, we have feelings and we have passions and nobody can take that from us. All this time that people treat us like we are subhuman and make hateful comments about us is downright sickening, this is America and we have rights just like everybody else. It really angers me that people and the organization are referring us as burdens to today’s society. we are not burdens and they need to learn that. My true niche in creating the Aspie brigade is to ensure equality and acceptance and we do deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. Autism speaks needs to shut the hell up and stop spreading all those lies and hate speeches about us and let us be for who we are. There are a lot of good things when it comes to being an Aspie and I just wish people would just open their eyes and realize that we are special. Autism $peaks is some how responsible for the light-it-up-blue nonsense and worst of all they are allies with JRC, which promotes electric shocks and other atrocities. Let’s work together and turn off the blue and light it up red instead
