I’ve heard people claim that WWE planted fans into the crowd so people were cheering for Roman Reigns! Not sure if they have evidence to back that up or they just can’t accept that some people like Roman Reigns…whatever the case, not that many people were behind Reigns in St Louis! Personally, I think everyone is fed up with Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns because whoever wins, the majority of fans lose, why is that?

  • If Brock wins- Chances are high that the Universal Championship will disappear from Raw again, as it did for a majority of 2017, which devalues the belt, no matter what WWE says, a belt that barely makes an appearance means that fans lose interest in it…I mean how many people cared about Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 34?  If rumours are true though that the scheduled Lashley vs Lesnar match is off the cards now…it just makes you think that Reigns is walking out of Saudi Arabia as the new Universal Champion!
  • If Roman Reigns wins- Does it need saying that Roman Reigns just isn’t over as much as WWE would like him to be…this guy is constantly booed everywhere he goes and despite this, is given chances that fans wish would go to someone a bit more deserving…like a Seth Rollins, Finn Balor or Brawn Strowman! Getting the belt off Lesnar needs to happen for the sake of the Universal Championship but is Roman Reigns really the right person to be given that honour? Fans could easily believe that Brawn Strowman could take the belt away from Lesnar and fans would appreciate it…with Reigns as the champion, we’ll get the belt every week on Raw but with the way that Reigns is booed by fans every week…is it the right call?

Bobby Roode vs Elias

Wow WWE, what have you done to Bobby Roode? A great heel in NXT made out to be a joke on Smackdown and now Raw! He doesn’t work as a babyface in my eyes…I’m sorry but he puts me to sleep and given how audiences no longer sing with his theme song…I think he puts crowds to sleep because what singles out Bobby Roode from other superstars anymore? No expensive suits, limos or a cocky attitude that made you want to see Roode! Elias gets a sneaky win via a roll up, nothing worth seeing here, if you missed it…you missed nothing! Score 2/10

Matt Hardy/Bray Wyatt vs The Ascension

Again…wow WWE…way to already crush The Ascension! Getting fed up of being buried on Smackdown Live, one of the best tag teams to come up from NXT getting constantly humiliated by every tag team in WWE…seriously, when did they last win a match? It was obvious that Hardy/Wyatt was winning, days before they take on The Bar (moved to Smackdown) for the Raw Tag Team Championships…I wonder who will win that one? If I were Viktor or Konnor, I’d either beg to go back to NXT or be released from there WWE contracts because how long can you just collect a paycheck every week?

Score 3/10

Dolph Ziggler/Drew Mcintyre vs Titus Worldwide

One of the only bright lights on Raw is Drew Mcintyre and did he show that on this show with his teamwork with Dolph Ziggler! That Claymore/zig-zag combination was beast and possibly the best move in WWE as of right now! Mcintyre needs a Championship in 2018, whether its the Tag Team Championship with Dolph Ziggler, the Intercontinental Championship or even the Universal Championship via winning MITB and cashing in on Roman Reigns! It needs to happen because I think it would be easy for WWE to bring up ‘Vince’s chosen one’ storyline from Smackdown…give him a massive push as a heel champion

Score 6/10

Chad Gable vs Jinder Mahal

Not sure where Chad Gable is going this year but he’s a proven wrestler who can go with the likes of AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura so who knows…maybe he’s going down the Shelton Benjamin road where he comes over big opponents and goes on to be a successful IC Championship down the road! I think he’d be a fantastic IC Champion someday but as of right now, Chad Gable fights Jinder Mahal over an argument backstage and despite being dominated for the majority of the match, Gable sneaks a win…not bad but I doubt this is over between the two! Hope this is the start of a build up for Gable…as for Mahal, is this possibly the end of his year-long push? That remains to be seen.

Score 5/10

Brawn Strowman and Bobby Lashley vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

For me, the match of the night by far as it was the most entertaining one to watch! Brawn Strowman’s shoulder tackle (click) to Kevin Owens which slams him into the barricade was amazing, I’m surprised that Kevin Owens was legitimately able to get back up, only to have it happen a couple more times! Stay down Kevin…stay down! Essentially, it became a handicap match and Sami Zayn was squashed by Lashley and Strowman for the win

How Strowman hasn’t won a singles championship yet baffles me! He could easily be put over as a dominant champion like Brock Lesnar but we see him most weeks so why WWE keeps relying on Brock Lesnar for star power is irritating because it was fun at first but now I wouldn’t care if Lesnar went away for another few years because his matches are boring and the same thing over and over again….suplex after suplex…yawn.  Yet you have a monster on Raw that fans want to see as a champion but you won’t pull the trigger, in fear of Roman Reigns not getting over…which won’t happen anyway, no matter what WWE tries!

Score 7/10 (Best Match Of Night)

Finn Balor and Seth Rollins vs The Miztourage

Basic squash match that I just didn’t care about…Balor and Rollins win and leave Dallas and Axel humiliated and looking to be servants to someone…pathetic really and one more thing…can Balor stop smiling so much every week…Apollo Crews does that and look where he is in the pecking order?

Nia Jax, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Ember Moon and Natalya vs Alexa Bliss, Riot Squad and Mickie James

The main event on Raw was a 10 Woman tag team match…so we’re just copying last week’s main event, only to change the gender instead! I have nothing against the Women’s division in WWE but certain superstars make me question what direction it’s going in as of right now…for example, I’ve grown tired of seeing and hearing Alexa Bliss every week complaining that she’s a victim of bullying when it’s beyond clear that everyone is tired of this latest feud with Nia Jax! Nothing against Nia at all but the Nia vs Alexa feud as of right now has just not really had enough steam to go for very long, to be considered one of the best feuds on WWE right now!

  • Mickie James– To this day, I still scratch my head, asking why Mickie James went back to being Alexa Bliss’s friend again? After everything, they went through in 2017…all the fights and insults, she goes back to being Alexa’s lackey and we never get a proper explanation for it! Not only that but Mickie James was helping Alexa Bliss bully, Nia Jax, a whole decade after being called ‘Piggy James’ by Michelle McCool and Layla…none of this makes any sense because Alexa Bliss is now claiming that she’s the victim of bullying… the only problem is that no one really cares!

The match itself wasn’t that fantastic really, it finishes with a massive brawl where Nia Jax takes out everyone, except for Mickie James and Natalya but when Mickie James attacks Natalya…her friend Ronda Rousey saves her by locking in the armbar on Mickie James! Really hope her arm was ‘broken’ and she disappears for a while! Alexa Bliss needs to be kept away from the Women’s Championship for quite some time but we would have a major problem if Alexa Bliss doesn’t win the belt at Backlash…who else takes on Nia Jax?

The standard formula in WWE is Babyface vs Heel…apart from the Riot Squad…as of right now, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James are the only heels on Raw, unless Sasha Banks or Bayley turn heel…who else would Nia Jax have to feud with on a roster with more babyfaces than heels?!  If Bliss wins it again, it will do nothing for the Women’s Division…all we will get is a wrestler who is scripted to moan, cry and scheme her way out of matches…doesn’t work if the wrestler can’t pull it off without making it cringe-worthy…which Alexa Bliss does on a weekly basis! Also, can every blonde female wrestler stop looking like Harley Quinn, please!

Score 1/10 (Worst Match of Night)

Overall- A boring night on Raw…makes me so glad for the Superstar shake up…we’re in that time of year where WWE TV just bombs and nothing ever makes sense, lazy writing and storylines that put you to sleep every week…Fair enough if you enjoyed it but for me, everything is out of place and you could have missed this week’s show and missed nothing at all!

Hope things pick up next week with more than likely a Championship Celebration from a Big Dog next week!

Star of the Night- Brawn Strowman for that shoulder tackle on Kevin Owens- enough said!
